Instagram Rolls Out the ‘Archive Feature’ to Android and iOS Users

Last month, Instagram started rolling out a new update for its Instagram Direct feature which makes it easier for users to add a visual touch to their conversations with photos and videos. Instagram Direct enables users to exchange threaded messages with one or more people and share posts they see in their feed as a message.

And looks like the Facebook-owned photo & video sharing platform is rolling out a new feature dubbed as the Archive – for its iOS and Android apps enabling Instagrammers to hide their preferred posts (pictures or videos) off their profile without actually deleting them.

And to do so, they simply have to click on the menu button on a photo and they’ll see an Archive option. Once it’s tapped, the photo or video will be moved to the archive and will no longer show up on the profile.

Users can locate the Archive icon next to the Discover option in their profile. Tapping on it will also allow the users to see all the posts they have archived. Users will also be able to choose an archived photo or video if they want to share it again on their profile again.

Notably, with the Direct Feature option, users need to swipe left to the Direct section and tap the Blue-colored camera icon to take a disappearing photo or video. They can then tap on the arrow icon to send it to individual contacts or a group.[related-posts]
