Global entrepreneurs’ club Metta has launched a Catalyst program in Nairobi to help Kenyan Startups accelerate their growth.
According to Maurice Otieno, the ecosystem development lead for Africa at Metta, the program will consist of a series of monthly industry-specific workshops and this Month’s edition will focus mainly on Education and Edtech. It will kick off on Wednesday February 15th and run for 9 days up to Friday February 24th.
Launched in Kenya in December 2016, Metta is a members-only club in Nairobi, opening the doors to a dedicated space for entrepreneurs and investors to network and collaborate.
It is built upon principles of establishing a global business network, hosting meaningful events, and operating an exclusive space that entrepreneurs call home with a view that by bringing startup communities and ecosystems closer together, great things can happen.
In the program, Metta will host an industry-specific workshop each month, bringing together industry experts, mentors and corporates to help entrepreneurs running promising early stage companies accelerate growth and take their businesses to the next level.
The February program will consist of four half-day sessions, each focusing on a different key theme: business modelling and idea crystallization; UX and market research; financial modelling; and team hiring and retention.
Each Catalyst program will culminate in a Demo Day, giving the selected startups the opportunity to showcase their innovations and interact with ecosystem stakeholders.
While the dates are yet to be announced, the March program will focus on urban living and property tech; and the April edition is dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI), block chain and data.
