Former South African President, Nelson Mandela’s daughter is expected to lead a fundraising drive for a technology innovation centre in Jinja District, Eastern Uganda.
Zindziswa Mandela, Nelson Mandela’s youngest daughter who is the managing Trustee Mandela Children’s Fund and the director founder Mandela Legacy arrives in Uganda on Tuesday and will undertake a series of activities before heading to Jinja on Saturday January 28th.
She is expected to be the chief guest at the fundraising event at Busoga Square where after she will lay a foundation stone for the centre in Masese, Walukuba Division, Jinja Municipality.
The centre which will be developed in partnership with the Danish Technological Institute will be a solution to the high unemployment rates by providing skills to youth and rejuvenating innovation in the region.
Prior to her Jinja trip, Ms Mandela, who is South Africa’s ambassador to Denmark will pay a courtesy visit to President Museveni, visit Mandela National Stadium- Namboole and thereafter visit Uganda Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo.

She will later meet Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, and address the Parliamentary Forum for Children at Parliament before addressing the Uganda Youth Network at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
