Itel it1516 Plus is an entry level focused smartphone just like the Itel it1520, offering users a 5000 mAh battery which I might say can at least offer a long battery life for your mobile use. Itel it1516 Plus comes with a reverse charge feature, meaning it can act as a power bank to charge another mobile device.

Dubbed as a “Powerful Smartphone,” at PC Tech Magazine, we did managed to get a touch of the 5.0-Inch sized phone and came up with the reveiw.

Display

itel it1516 spots a 5.0-Inch IPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen show has 218 ppi of pixels thickness that gives the 480 x 854 pixels of screen resolutions. The function keys are placed outside the display panel.

The IPS screen provides a wider color gamut and greater viewing angles for user to have an overall better experience.

Hardware

The itel it1516 Plus we acquired had a smooth black coloring on top and a grey finish at the back. However, the smartphone also comes in Silver and Champagne colors at the back. With the only Power Button and Volume Buttons which appear at the right side, they’re easy to locate which ease the use of the phone.

The itel it1516 comes as a dual sim option for only Micro-Sim cards and come with a 1GB RAM including 8GB internal memory that can further be expandable up to 32 GB with the microSD card, the MicroSD card slot is seen just above on of the sim card slots. Powered by a Quad-core 1.2GHz processor which I might say is good for first time smartphone owners.

Interface

On press of the power button which appears just below the volume button, just like other smartphones start with the lock screen that displays the time and date above the battery icon which display the percentage of battery life left on your phone and by default camera shortcut is present right bottom of screen, and the emergency shortcut at the left.

Camera

itel it1516 is an enrty level smartphone, so you don’t expect the cameras to be that good. The rear cam is 5.0MP AF with a LED Flash while the famous-well-known selfie cam; the (front cam) is 2MP while a Flash that bring out you picture in low light places, adding a new dimension for selfies.

The rear camera features an auto focus. The zippy auto focus system helps you capture focused and sharp images.

Battery Life

For any first time smartphone owner, they would really want to use the device for it’s maximum. For instance, playing games, music, videos, and so forth, or probably use it for web; to say; social networking, surfing and so forth. So the itel it1516 has a good battey life 5000mAh which give you less charging and long usage, so you can enjoy your phone up-to 48 hours of heavy usage on a single charge.

The Smartphone battery performance calculate on its usage, since it doesn’t support 4G to drain your 5000mAh battery life, you can porbably work for all day long with 3G network.

One thing we loved with the 5000mAh, is that when it’s full charged, you probably use it as a power bank to charge other mobile devices. Awesome right! So you can share the power to others.

Connectivity and Performance

itel it1516 grants a facility of GPRS/EDGE/3G/Wi-Fi/3.75G Internet Connectivity, handled by a Micro USB of v3.0, and Bluetooth v4.0, plus a built in Hotspot functions for users to share mobile data. And yes, a GPS is too supported.[related-posts]

What we liked

  1. The power bank support. One is able to charge other mobile devices.

What we didn’t like

  1. Doesn’t have a notification LED light.
  2. Doesn’t support 4G (Really! 4G is now the thing this time around).
