Just as done in previous years, Yahoo-owned photo-sharing Flickr has announced the list of smartphones that have dominated photo uploads on its social-photo-platform in this year, where Apple Inc. emerged as the most popular brand used by 47% Flickr users, followed by Canon 24% users, and Nikon 18% users.

“As for brands, Apple continued its dominance. 47% of all Flickr users used an Apple device to upload images to the platform. In fact, 8 of the top 10 devices were iPhones, with the 6, 5s, and 6s in the top three positions,” Matthew Roth; a Community Manager for Flickr and an editor on the Flickr Blog, writes in the blog post.

Flickr mentioned that almost 48% of the photos uploaded to Flickr were from smartphones, followed by DSLR wiht 25%, point-and-shoot cameras captured 21%, and Mirrorless cameras remained flat at 3%.

While Apple ruled with almost 8 out of 10 devices in the smartphone category, Canon EOS 5D Mark III and Mark II were the only non-Apple cameras to stay in the top-10.
