In August this year, South Korean based smartphone markers, LG corp. announced an Android 7.0 Nougat Preview Program for it’s LG G5 users in South Korea, and as a part of the program, reports from Social LG show that 2000 applicants were selected by the company to test out the early build of the platform.
After two months of the Android 7.0 Nougat Preview Program, the company on Tuesday announced that it had started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat Update for all LG G5 smartphone holders starting with users in South Korea, followed by Americas, and Asians. The was no mention as to when the update will be available globally. However, the company says the update should be expected in weeks to come.
“Most G5 users will receive notifications on their phones when the update is available. More information will become available locally in the weeks ahead,” LG said in a statement.
Features expected to come with the update
- The Nougat update will include an In Apps feature, which allows users to carry out searches inside user-installed as well as pre-installed apps.
- A Multi-Window feature which will allow users to run two apps side-by-side.
