After the successful launch of the Window 10 Mobile-powered Elite X3 at the MWC 2016, reports according to PocketNow show that the, Palo Alto-based tech firm, Hewlett-Packard Inc. might unveil Elite X3 successor the “Elite X4” at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, suggesting that the Phablet will be a mid-range device with average specs and features unlike the business-focused 3-in-1 Elite X3.
Another report by PhoneArena reveals that despite being a mid-rang smartphone, it will still feature Continuum and the Desk Dock support.
The HP Elite X3 spots among the most powerful hardware on a smartphone, with highlighting features like 5.96-inch QHD screen, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4150mAh battery, 64GB internal storage, an expandable microSD card support up to 2TB, 4GB RAM, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, Bang & Olufsen front speakers and dual-sim support.
With Continuum on-board, Elite X3 is being positioned as a device that will replace the laptop of enterprise users. Windows 10 Mobile’s Continuum feature allows users to port key apps to a connected screen in order to use the smartphone as a PC-on-the-go.
The company also offered a wireless dock as well as a Mobile Extender to make use of Continuum. While the dock is similar to what Microsoft offers, the Mobile Extender is a little more interesting. It is essentially a laptop that requires the smartphone for power and consists of a 12.5-inch Full HD screen, keyboard, trackpad, 48Wh battery and USB Type C.
We shall let you know about the specs for the Elite X4 ASAP!!
As long as it looks decent and works smoothly, why should I care if it has the latest snapdragon chip?
