Search giant, Google has announced it is accepting applications for the female edition of its Demo Day, an event for startups to showcase their products and meet investors and mentors.

The female edition – Google Demo Day: Women’s Edition – will feature some of the world’s best early stage startups founded or co-founded by women.

The event presents several benefits to the selected female founders such as opportunities to be featured in press coverage around Demo Day, and become part of a global network.

Also, they get to receive focused mentoring, feedback, and support from Googlers and Silicon Valley veterans at an exclusive series of talks and workshops.

The event will hold from October 31 – November 3, 2016 where the selected female founders will pitch to investors, VCs, and respected judges at Google HQ in Mountain View.

Female founders in Africa with startups in the B2B or B2C space and are actively raising a Series A round of roughly US$1 million – US$5 million should apply by October 6, 2016.

Google for Entrepreneurs will cover the cost of air travel to Silicon Valley for African female founders and all other international founders
