Bitfinex, a Hong Kong-based exchange  said it halted trading, withdrawals and deposits after discovering the security breach. The exchange said it was still investigating details and cooperating with law enforcement, but acknowledged some bitcoins were stolen from its users.

The company confirmed a a message to Bloomberg News on Wednesday that the hackers took 119,756 bitcoin, or about $65 million.

While trading was halted in all digital currencies, including ethereum, the exchange said losses were limited only to bitcoin. It also said U.S. dollar deposits were not impacted.

  1. PC Tech Mag. You have your “news” articles on auto-repost after X amount of time.

I know this is a common tact for many lesser publications and outlets, but this is irresponsible and misleading. Please stop it. If you need content… get it fresh. At the very least curate it and/or post the original date of publication and change the title to reflect it.

    Show some responsibility.
