Over 100 villages in Bauchi state,  are to receive free solar-powered educational satellite television decoders from China.

The decoders are pilot project to experiment on the use of satellite television in promoting basic education in communities.

This was revealed by Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, and he said that the deal was sealed during his recent visit to China.

The Governor revealed that this is part of the project for 10,000 rural African communities identified by the government of the Republic of China.

Solar powered satellite decoders enable customers to watch TV in places where electricity, TV broadcast and TV network are not available.
