The American Chamber of Commerce of Uganda (AmCham) is hosting its 2nd Annual Generation AgriPreneur Summit & Expo in Kampala, Uganda. In keeping with our Earth Day tradition, it will take place on 19th – 21st April, 2016 at UMA Showgrounds, Lugogo, the week preceding Earth Day.

This year’s theme is “AgriBusiness Investment Opportunities in Uganda: Gifted by Nature.” If you are interested in participating in 2016’s event as an exhibitor visit their website to complete your registration.

The first Generation AgriPreneur in April 2015 was a huge success. Nine American companies came to participate in the event, which included 91 exhibitors from Uganda, America, Burundi, and Kenya, 30 speakers with vast knowledge across the agricultural value chain, and the participation of about 900 attendees.

The Ugandan Prime Minister Ruhukana Rugunda attended the event along with US Ambassador Scott DeLisi, who together offered the closing remarks for the event and each were impressed with the innovation and engagement taking place.

Youth were encouraged to pursue the vast opportunities in agribusiness in Miss Uganda’s opening remarks, and audiences were thrilled by drone presentations and discussions on what drone technology can offer agriculture.
