Nigeria’s fuel shortages, may cause the country’s biggest mobile operator to shut down in some areas.
The scarcity of diesel in some parts of that country is posing a significant threat to network operations.
Nigeria has been battling with fuel shortages in recent weeks due to a standoff over controversial subsidy payments.
This has affected the mobile network and it says if it is unable to receive supply soon the network will be seriously degraded and customers will feel the impact.
MTN had nearly 60 million users in Nigeria in 2014, about 27 percent of its entire subscriber base across 22 countries.
Africa’s most populous country is also the biggest contributor to MTN’s revenue, providing more than a third of overall turnover.
