Angolan operator Unitel has entered into a partnership with Google to launch a fibre optic submarine cable that will connect Africa to Brazil and Brazil to America, according to Diario Economico.
The communication was revealed by Isabel dos Santos, the CEO of Unitel.
Telecom Paper reports that the president of the company, who spoke during the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Marrakech, said that the project has launched, with the first km built two weeks ago.
On the telecommunications sector in Africa, the CEO said the big challenge was broadband connectivity, in order to implement high-quality fibre in Africa to support mobile communications and business.
