Huawei Unveils the Nova 4 With ‘Hole-Punch’ Display

Chinese smartphone maker; Huawei today launched their anticipated hole-punch display handset. The launch comes a few days after its competitor South Korean electronics firm; Samsung launched the same handset; the Samsung Galaxy A8s. However, according to some media reports, Huawei’s phone looks to have a smaller hole for the camera.

Aside from the hole-punch design being the major highlight for the flagship, the Nova 4 also came with a 48MP primary rear camera with Sony’s IMX586 sensor.

Specs and Features
The Huawei Nova 4 mobile features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080×2310 pixels) display with a 19.25:9 aspect screen ratio. Runs on Android v9.0 (Pie) operating system, powered by Octa core (2.36 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A73 + 1.8 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53) processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 128GB ROM. Backed on a non-removable 3750mAh battery.

As far as the rear camera is concerned comes with 20MP + 16MP + 2MP sensors. Other sensors include Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope. Meanwhile, the front camera comes at 25MP sensor.

In terms of connectivity; comes with a 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (v2.0), and 3.5mm headphone jack. The Huawei Nova 4 also bears a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, and face unlock ID features.

Price and Availability
The Huawei Nova 4 price has been set at CNY 3,399 for the 48MP rear camera variant, and CNY 3,099 for the 20MP variant. They’re up for for pre-orders via Huawei’s Vmall e-commerce site, and will go on sale on Dec. 27th.

The smartphone available in Black, Blue, Red, and White color variants.
