ICT 4 Education Expo Cancelled

PC Tech understands that the long-awaited ICT Expo that had been slated to take place on 16th September 2010 has been indefinitely postponed. In a note posted on the event page on Facebook (as a reason for the cancellation), the organisers seemed to imply that the ICT Sector is not big enough to support an event of the intended magnitude. “We regret to inform you that the Expo for Education has been postponed till further notice. This is because under the ICT Sector in Uganda we do not yet have enough players to facilitate and an Expo of such magnitude,” read a note posted on the event’s Facebook page.

“There is a huge need to have more players involved and this will take a lot of time. Due to this and a couple of other related Issues, the Expo is being delayed until a good number of players have been sensitized about the Importance of ICTs in Education. Sorry for the inconvenience and hope to see you there when we it happens,” the note further explained.
