Seedstars World toured Africa over the course of 2016, selecting winning startups in Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, who now stand a chance to win US$1 million in funding’s as well as prizes worth over US$90,000.
From Uganda, a Fintech startup Akiba; which aims to transform finance by making it collective, giving people the tools for practical and transparent management of their finances was last year in October crowned winner of the Seedstars Kampala during a pitching event that took place at Outbox Hub, and will be representing the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland in April 6th at the Swiss Tech Convention Centre in Lausanne.
The best startups in categories; fintech, education, Intel solutions, most innovative startup, and best woman entrepreneur, as well as the public vote winner, will also be awarded.[related-posts]
