Intership UG – a startup that allows users to shop from online shopping sites in the United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), Dubai and China and have their packages delivered to Uganda – has won the Kampala round of the Seedstars World competition and will represent Uganda next year in Geneva at the Seedstars World final.
Beating off competition from 10 other startups that had gone head to head in pitching sessions at Outbox Hub Kampala on Friday.
Intership UG will now represent Uganda at the Seedstars World final in Geneva, Switzerland next year, where it will compete for up to US$500,000 in equity investment.

Nielsimms Sangho, Co-founder and CEO of Intership Ug said that there have been gaps in meeting the needs of SME’s and individuals who need to ship goods into the country and it is on the basis of this that they developed a solution that will enable them act as a middleman for SME’s and individuals.

The top three startups walked away with a host of free software tools, one year of mentoring on brand strategy and public relations by Corporate Image and three months of free keywords on shortcode provided by Africa’s Talking.
Stanbic Bank Uganda, Seedstars World, Google for Entrepreneurs and Corporate Image championed the startup competition for emerging markets in Uganda.
