2013 Consumer Electronics Show Highlights Newest Technology Huawei today announced its participation in the Innovation Africa 2013 being held in Gaborone from 15th to 17th of October. The company will also share industry insights on National Broadband, Data Centres and E-learning.

He added that Huawei believed in the sustainable growth of the region, and was committed to being a long-term investor by partnering with local governments and operators to create robust technologically advanced economies that support the current and future growth of Africa’s ICT industry, enabling the local industry and community to reap the benefits of enriched communications.

Mr. Episkopos who will be Huawei’s expert for the summit has over 27 years experience in the industry and has currently at Huawei defined the Strategy and Architecture for the next generation Cloud Enterprise Communications products and solutions using technologies such as WebRTC, UCaaS, Context Aware Communications, Web Conferencing and Collaboration, etc. Dennis has a Masters Degree in Computer Science from New York University and holds several US patents in the technology area.

According to ITU,  Africa is the region with the highest growth rates over the past three years and mobile broadband penetration has increased from 2% in 2010 to 11% in 2013. Huawei is the recognised leader in NBN and has successfully implemented 14 NBN’s globally. The company’s   E-learning cases include support of a Digital Campus for Walter Sisulu University in South Africa.
