Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago Attends The Launch of the Infinix NOTE 30 in Uganda

The Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago along with officials from Infinix, Airtel and other partners officially launched the Infinix NOTE 30 Series in the Ugandan market.

Infinix and Airtel launch three variants of the Infinix NOTE 30 series in Uganda. The launch event which was held at Skyz Hotel Naguru was attended by the Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago as the Guest of Honor — who along with officials from Infinix officially launched the phone in the Ugandan market with the aim of scaling up smartphone penetration.

The three phablets in the NOTE 30 series are Infinix NOTE 30, Infinix NOTE 30 Pro, and Infinix NOTE 30 VIP. The phones are now available for purchase at Infinix stores, Airtel service centers, and authorized mobile phone dealer outlets across the country. Upon purchase, they come bundled with free 3GB data for three (3) months courtesy of Airtel Uganda.

Robin Weichao, Brand Manager at Infinix Uganda told the press, “We’re excited to bring the Infinix NOTE 30 Series to Uganda, and we believe it will redefine the smartphone experience for our customers.” Adding “Teaming up with Airtel Uganda allows us to provide our users with an exceptional offer of a free 3GB data bundle for three months, ensuring that they can fully explore the capabilities of their new smartphone.”

David Birungi, Airtel Uganda PR Manager the telco is pleased to collaborate with Infinix to extend products like the newly launched Inifnix NOTE 30 smartphones to Ugandans and their customers — giving them a reason to imagine. “This will allow them to harness the power of technology and internet connectivity to positively impact their lives and communities,” he said.

Birungi also noted that there is a need to increase smartphone access in the country to enable the youth to imagine the endless possibilities they can achieve once they engage in activities they love.

“Having access to a smartphone and a reliable internet connection to engage in creatives, and entertainment, among other sectors will generate income for the youths and further enhance the country’s socio-economic development,” he remarks.

Infinix says the Infinix NOTE 30 series delivers a first-of-its-kind superphone in their price range, and the new all-around fast charge technology reaches new horizons in intelligent smartphone charging innovation, boasting a myriad of new unparallel features.

The Infinix NOTE 30 VIP weighs less at 190g compared to the base phone and pro version which weigh 219g and 205g respectively. They are built the same with a glass front, plastic frame, and glass back — and what slightly differs is NOTE 30 has a leather back.

The NOTE 30 Pro and NOTE 30 VIP come with an AMOLED display while the NOTE 30 comes with an IPS LCD. The base and the pro version come with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels while the VIP version comes with 1080 x 2400 pixels.

All three phones come with the Android 13 operating system coupled with XOS 13. The NOTE 30 and NOTE 30 Pro come with MediaTek Helio G99 chipset as well as the same processor while the VIP version comes with a similar chipset and processor that came with the Tecno Camon 20 Premier, MediaTek Dimensity 8050 this will at least guarantee better performance.

In terms of memory, the NOTE 30 and NOTE 30 Pro come in two variants, 128GB + 8GB RAM, and 256GB + 8GB RAM while the NOTE 30 VIP comes only with one, 256GB + 12GB RAM. All three phablets support a microSD card in case the user needs to expand their storage — but for such an amount of space and the availability of cloud storage services, the need of using a microSD should be retro.

Imaging and optics, Infinix says the cameras on NOTE 30s will empower users to unleash their creativity and take professional-grade photos and videos, making every shot a masterpiece. This is the same story the company says on its new phones but this time around it spiced on the NOTE 30s.

The NOTE 30 and 30 Pro come with 16MP front-facing camera while the NOTE 30 VIP comes with a 32MP shooter. The cameras are capable of shooting videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps) — in addition, have LED flash for low light settings. At the back, all three phones come with a trio setup. The NOTE 30 comes with 64MP (wide) + 2MP (depth) + QVGA, the NOTE 30 Pro has 108MP (wide) + 2MP (depth) + QVGA as for the NOTE 30 VIP 108MP (wide) + 2MP (depth) + 2MP shooters. They are supported by a Quad-LED flash for low light settings and they are also capable of shooting videos in 1440p and 1080p at 30/60fps and the NOTE 30 VIP can go up to 4K at 30/60fps.

In terms of battery and charging, all three phones come with a non-removable Li-Po 5000mAh battery. When it comes to charging there is a difference even though they all support fast charging. NOTE 30 comes with a 45W wired charger, the Pro version comes with a 68W wired & 15W wireless charge, and as for the VIP version, 68W wired and 50W wireless. The NOTE 30 Pro and NOTE 30 VIP also act as charging devices for other phones. With their wireless reverse charge, users can help power a friend’s device by simply touching phone to phone.

Other features to note, unlike the NOTE 30 VIP which comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, the base and pro have the fingerprint mounted on the power button. Infinix also collaborated with JBL, to bring “Sound by JBL” audio excellence to the NOTE 30s giving a rich audio experience like never before for music, movies, and calls.
