Emerging telecommunication company, Talkio Mobile has announced a strategic partnership with Banana Life Investments to bring its innovative telecom services closer to its customers across the country, bridging the gap between technology and accessibility. The partnership aims to merge Talkio Mobile’s robust digital presence with a physical footprint, enhancing accessibility and customer experience.

Talkio Mobile which has been in operation for approximately two years spent the majority of this time developing a strong and reliable network. According to Vianne Allan Ahura, the CEO of Talkio Mobile, the company dedicated a year and a half to setting up the infrastructure, followed by a testing phase over the past six months.

“It has taken us about a year and a half, and about now five to six months of operation, testing the network,” Ahura shared, highlighting the company’s commitment to building a solid foundation before launching operations in August this year.

The newly announced partnership with Banana Life Investment is a strategic move to ensure Talkio Mobile’s services reach customers with greater ease. Banana, a well-established brand with 26 stores nationwide will bring physical accessibility to Talkio Mobile’s full suite of services, including SIM cards & e-Sims, airtime, and exclusive product offerings, ensuring that even the most underserved communities gain access to its reliable communication solutions.

“Banana is a strategic partner. They have a physical presence across the country, covering all regions—Central, West, North, and East, thus, by leveraging their trusted presence and nationwide footprint, we are not only expanding our agent network but also bringing our services closer to the communities we serve,” Ahura explained.

The partnership is more than a business initiative—it’s a shared commitment to transforming lives. By integrating Talkio Mobile’s nationwide reach with Banana’s retail footprint, the two brands are setting a new standard for customer convenience and inclusivity.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission of connecting Ugandans to innovative and transformative telecom solutions, said Ahura. “Together, we are empowering Ugandans with the tools they need to stay connected, grow their businesses, and unlock new opportunities.”

Ganesh Borra, CEO of Banana Life Investments said the company is proud to join hands with the emerging telco to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions. “This partnership represents our shared vision of fostering a connected future for Uganda,” he said. “Together, we are redefining what convenience and accessibility mean for our customers.”

While the partnership with Banana marks a significant step, Talkio Mobile is not stopping there. The company is in discussions with other distributors and agencies to further expand its reach across the country. “We are looking at other partners. We’re talking to other agencies and distributors who can help us cover the entire country. Once we finalize these partnerships, we will roll out further expansion plans,” Ahura shared.

What sets Talkio Mobile apart

In an increasingly competitive telecom market, Talkio Mobile is determined to differentiate itself through innovation and flexibility. One of the standout features of the telco’s services is the ability for customers to customize their bundles.

“Talkio Mobile is built on innovation. We have introduced ‘Build Your Bundle,’ a product that allows customers to create their bundles. Whether you want to purchase minutes, a specific amount of data, or even 50 seconds of voice, we give you that flexibility,” Ahura explained.

This pay-as-you-go model allows customers to spend within their budgets while enjoying services that do not expire prematurely. Combined with an emphasis on digital customer experience,  Talkio Mobile is positioning itself as a flexible and forward-thinking telecom provider.

Pricing remains a sensitive topic in the telecom industry, particularly in markets where affordability is critical. However, Talkio Mobile is confident that its unique approach to pricing and service quality will resonate with its target audience.

“We believe in quality services for every customer. However, we’re also giving them flexibility—if they can afford just a small amount, they can still buy what they need,” Ahura explained.

Impact on the telecom industry

The partnership between Talkio Mobile and Banana is expected to create a ripple effect across Uganda’s telecom industry. By integrating an online and offline experience, Talkio Mobile is improving accessibility and addressing one of the key challenges faced by telecom customers—the ability to access services in a convenient way.

“We are merging the online experience with offline accessibility. Where customers struggled to find our services before, now they can easily walk into a Banana Life Investment store and get these services,” Ahura said.
