Tecno Mobile is set to launch the Camon 20 series in Uganda on May 11, the company has confirmed following a press launch invitation sent to us. It hasn’t been confirmed how many devices the company will unveil, however, according to past reports, there might once again be three of them — the Camon 20, the Camon 20 Pro, and the Camon 20 Premier 5G.
The Camon 20 series will be the successor of the Camon 19s that were launched in June last year and according to Tecno, the phones will have a unique three-dimensional deconstructionist design. The design was unanimously praised by the judges at the 2023 MUSE Design Awards which saw Tecno win the prestigious MUSE Design Awards 2023 as a gold winner in the Product Design of Telecommunications category.
“This win further illustrates TECNO’s strength in product design as the company continues to gain recognition from well-established international authorities,” IAA said in a press statement.
While we currently have no details about the phones, the Camon 20 Premier 5G has been rumored to have 1080p AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 256/512GB of non-expandable storage. It is also “supposed” to have a 108MP main rear camera, a 13MP ultrawide, a macro shooter, and the front-facing that is embedded in the punch-hole notch will be a 32MP shooter. The phone is also rumored to have an embedded fingerprint sensor which will be the first of its kind on a Tecno smartphone.
The Camon 20 Pro, on the other hand, is said to have a 6.7-inch LCD screen, the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, a 64MP main rear camera, a 32MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery.
As for the Camon 20, there are no details, however, as a base model we believe it won’t have much of a difference is features and specifications compared to the Camon 19.
