Job Opportunity: Software Programmer – Innovation Streams Limited

Job Description:
The software programmer will develop applications for projects at Innovation Streams Limited. Job Details Previously known as Rimpscom Company Limited, Innovation Streams Limited (istreams) is the largest computer firm in Western Uganda in terms of portfolio and customer base. We currently support more than 400 businesses and thousands of individuals in Uganda. We are a team of young, innovative and dynamic tech-enthusiasts that build computer systems, provide services and solutions to businesses in Uganda. We are looking for a talented ‘innovative stream’ to join our team of ‘innovation streams’.

Position:
Software programmer Developing software programs for projects that Istreams is working on Reviewing current systems for bugs and maintenance fixes  Working closely with analysts, designers and staff to develop good quality software Producing detailed specifications and writing the program codes Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going live Preparation of training manuals for users Maintaining the systems once they are up and running Mentor and nurture more software developers

Qualifications:
Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or related field.

Skills required:

  1. Candidate should have some good knowledge about software programming.
  2. You will need to show: communication and interpersonal skills, analytical skills, the ability to use initiative, the capacity to work under pressure, creativity, drive, flexibility, numeracy, teamwork, influencing and negotiation skills, oral and written skills, business awareness and IT literacy.

Languages:
Proficiency with either of Java, C#, PhP or Python. Having knowledge of android development will be an added advantage.

Remuneration:
The software programmer will be paid a monthly salary and a bonus payment for exceeding the set targets. All other benefits enjoyed by Istreams staff; lunch every day of work, overtime, leave, per diems, holiday packages etc will apply.

Work hours and location:
You will be expected to work from Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm. The software programmer will sit at the Istreams office located on High Street Mbarara, BAM Complex, ROOM 10B.
