Micro-blogging platform Twitter has bought Magic Pony, a London based company that uses machine learning to process visuals.

It is said that the acquisition was approximately $150 million, and hopes to use the newly acquired talent to “enhance [its] strength” in both live and pre-recorded videos.

Magic Pony’s work on sharpening blurry video elements is an example of what they do, and is looking at using it when it comes to improving the quality of clips (especially on Periscope) without consuming more of your all-important bandwidth.

In 2014, Twitter acquired Madbits, and last year, they acquired Whetlab which are both AI-related acquisitions.

Let’s wait and see the effects of Magic Pony during the Periscope stream.
