Music streaming service Spotify yesterday revealed thatĀ its user base had grown to 100 million, up from 75 million previously, and of these, 30 million are paying subscribers.
This means the company has the biggest music streaming service, and the industryās biggest paid subscriber base.
With competition from Apple Music claiming 13 million paid users , 30 million users is a great number, given thatĀ theĀ majority still tune in for free with commercial breaks.
News sources indicate thatĀ Amazon is also preparing its own standalone service.
Last year, SpotifyĀ made an operating loss of 184.5 million euros ($209 million), widening from 165.1 million in 2014.
