Reddit to launch its own standalone news site called Upvoted

Reddit is set to launch its own standalone news website called Upvoted today.

Reddit has been a source of  interesting stuff from the Internet and this will presents an opportunity for it to take all that community-curated content and offer it up in a more news worthy way.

Currently if you try to access Upvoted.com, You will be asked to log in to view, indicating that it is still under development.

The site will have an independent editorial team expected to consist of 10 writers creating up to 20 stories per day and eventually even more.

Upvoted’s dedicated editorial team will be able to work on crafting news that appeals to the Reddit and wider Internet community, based on that very Reddit news barometer.
