Airtel and Liquid Telecom have entered into a partnership agreement where Airtel will use the Liquid Telecom’s terrestrial fibre network to connect its mobile base stations and enterprises.
The framework agreement enables Airtel to leverage Liquid Telecom’s existing 20,000km-long fibre network across East, Central and Southern Africa and will also enables Airtel’s African operations to gain access to Liquid Telecom’s fibre infrastructure and to benefit from new fibre routes on an on-going basis.
Christian de Faria, the Airtel Africa CEO while commenting on the agreement said that It is a milestone in providing fast broadband services to customers in a cost-effective way.
He saod their collaboration reinforces their commitment to providing affordable and innovative mobile services to all.
