Reports coming in indicate that ailing Canadian giant BlackBerry is set to be bought.
According to Phone Arena and Mobile Burn, The deal would apparently be worth roughly $7-billion.
The reports however say that Microsoft isn’t the only interested party, with Xiaomi, Huawei and Lenovo apparently in the running as well.
The recent turnaround and profit during the first quarter of this year has piqued the interest of such companies as Xiaomi, Huawei, Lenovo, and even Microsoft.
Business insiders say all companies are inquiring about BlackBerry, with Microsoft even requesting investment companies to evaluate the potential of a deal.
BlackBerry CEO John Chen has said before the company is not for sale, that was during more trying times when it was being courted by Lenovo. Chen has previously met with Xiaomi chiefs, but he insisted it was not to discuss any potential takeover.
