Uganda’s leading online marketplace Kaymu is set to launch its mobile app on the iOS operating system on Monday, May 18th.
The mobile app is all set to make online shopping accessible to even more people, with great features that enable sellers to list products, and buyers to select from a wide variety of products at a glance.
The app will offer a wider product assortment, fast and intuitive navigation, and easier buyer and seller account management.
“Even though the majority of consumers use the Android operating system, with the launch of our new iOS App, we will be able to reach even more buyers and sellers”, explains Justin Christianson, the Managing Director of Kaymu Uganda.
The UCC records the total number of mobile internet subscribers in Uganda at 19,506,550 (based on telecom subscribers and penetration data in June 2014). According to The Mobile Africa 2015 study, on average, 29% of internet users in Uganda use their mobile phones to browse the Internet. Furthermore, the internet penetration continues to grow steadily and the number of smartphone users is constantly growing as well. This trend is leading to a general m-commerce explosion in Africa, as the number of users who access the internet via their phones is growing rapidly and leapfrogging traditional desktop use in Africa.
The Kaymu Mobile App can be downloaded here: on the App Store for iOS and on Google Play Store for Android devices.
