1. Nelson Mandela death and Burial.
His death and burial stood out across all social media platforms, and no category of people were left out of the buzz. Celebrities, Politicians, Entertainers and all kinds of people made sure they post their memories or messages concerning the events happening.
2. Breaking Bad Finale
The series ended in September, but up to now you can still find mentions of it across social Media. It went on to be one of the most illegally downloaded episode.
3. Miley Cyrus’s performance at the MTV awards
Miley Cyrus’s twerking with Robin Thicke is another event that cant be neglected. The outrageous performance left the crowd at the Video Music Awards stunned! which in turn led to all kinds of comments for the “wrecking ball star.”
4. North West
The birth of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s baby North West cant be ignored. Kanye always finds ways of getting his name in the media but in this case, his baby’s name won him plenty of tweets and mentions.
5. Kenya Mall attack
The attack left 67 people dead and nearly 200 others injured over four days of bloodshed. Al Qaeda-linked Somali terrorists storm the complex, unleashing a hail of bullets and sending shoppers frantically fleeing in all directions.
6. Pope Benedict XVI resigned
Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation caught the world and Church by surprise. He stepped down on February 28th leading to a late of mentions from all the faithfuls.
