Every year, Facebook users are flooded with birthday messages from their online friends — but while they may be a welcome sight, virtual wishes are always trumped by real-life ones.
Developed by Outback Steakhouse and Brazilian ad agency Lew’Lara\TBWA, the B-Day Chair addresses this by bringing online greetings to the offline world. After sitting in the interactive chair, and connecting to their Facebook account, the birthday girl or boy will receive a hug each time someone posts “Happy Birthday” to their Timeline. Watch the video, above, to see the B-Day Chair in action.
Outback Steakhouse aims to have at least one chair in each of their Brazilian locations by the end of this year, according to the ad’s description.
