Uganda’s Kyuka Ventures Shortlisted For TechCrunch’s 2023 Startup Battlefield 200

Uganda’s Kyuka Ventures, a tech-enabled startup that uses a chemical-free and energy-conserving technology to transform plastic waste into fuel and gas has been shortlisted to participate in TechCrunch’s 2023 Startup Battlefield 200, a world’s preeminent startup competition held at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, USA. This year’s event will be held from Sep. 19 – 21.

The Startup Battlefield 200 will have [the 200] companies selected from around the world pitch on the Pitch Showcase Stage where only the final 20 startups will be selected to pitch on the Disrupt Stage for six (6) minutes with a live Q&A in front of tier-1 venture capitalists (VCs). The winner will receive USD$100,000 (approx. UGX372.5 million) in equity-free prize money and the famous Disrupt Cup.

Founded by Jamal Sonko, Kyuka Ventures will be competing with 199 other startups from around the world for a spot in the final 20 and possibly win the USD$100,000 (approx. UGX372.5 million) equity-free prize money and the famous Disrupt Cup.

Jamal Sonko told PC Tech Magazine the Startup Battlefield 200 will truly herald the arrival of a new era in technology leaving Kyuka Ventures eager for what the future holds.
