Nigerian Wins Top Africa Technology Award

Internet, IT Education, IT Security and Telecommunications, and was recognized in that capacity by Technology Africa.

 

This new entry into East Africa marks yet another remarkable milestone in the history of this growing technology company.

CWG started out as a small company selling DELL computers to businesses in Nigeria in 1992 earning the company the rare position of being the first partners to the DELL Corporation in Nigeria.

It grew from being a computer hardware sales company to become one of the fastest growing ICT companies in Africa, providing hardware and infrastructure solutions, communications and networking solutions as well as software applications and deployment to all the business sectors; Financials, Telcoms, Manufacturing etc.

Okere is a renowned innovator in ICT and an ardent entrepreneurial crusader. He has received a number of accolades including an invitation to teach at the Columbia Business School in 2010 and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2011 and 2012 where he encouraged the investors, industrialists, academics and students with the amassing success story of the CWG group.

His achievement has been replicated in various Entrepreneurship Development Centres and Business Schools in Nigeria, US, Tanzania, Kenya, among other countries.

Presenting the award to Austin Okere, Nigerian Senator Gbenga Obadara – Chairman – Senate committee on Privatization commended the outstanding job done.

“We are proud of you and you have indeed portrayed Nigeria’s image positively globally”.

Speaking about the award from the Kampala office, Mr. Michael Manzi, Country Manager hailed Okere as a leader in ICT thinker in Africa whose vision for CWG is to deliver quality to his customers
