The Huawei GR3 was announced in January this year, and comes with confusing names. It has been called the Huawei P9 Lite (2017), Huawei P8 Lite (2017), Huawei Honor 8 Lite, or the Huawei Nova Lite, but most times, it has gone by Huawei P8 Lite (2017); a new version of its P8 Lite smartphone that launched two years ago.
The Huawei P8 Lite (2017), on paper, is a slightly better version of the P9 Lite smartphone that launched last year. It comes with a 5.20-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels powered by octa-core Kirin 655 processor supported with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card, and runs Android 7.0 powered and backed by a non-removable 3000mAh battery.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Huawei P8 Lite (2017) packs a 12MP and 8MP rear and front cameras respectively.
In terms of connectivity; it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and FM. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor.
First Impressions
- Awesome display. The flagship has an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors, makes all the icons and the fonts crystal clear. In other words, its so colorful.
- Portability.
- Cameras shoot perfect pictures and videos even though it doesn’t not support full HD.
- The plastic is mostly smooth, with just a slight ridged texture on the back that helps with the grip.
