Over 300 iPhone X Stolen From a UPS Truck Parked Near an Apple Store in the US

Cupertino-based tech firm, Apple Inc. on September 12th launched the iPhone X alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus – taking all the spotlight from the always launched iPhone series. The flagship after the launch begun off with pre-orders that would be delivered at a later time which in other words is today.

Being priced at USD$999 (approx. 3,596,400 UGX) and USD$1,149 (approx. 4,136,400 UGX) for the 64GB and 256GB variants respectively, seems like a sum number of people can’t pay for this and have decided to take their own rule and go behind the doors. According to media reports, three (3) thieves in the US stole more than 300 iPhone X devices worth over USD$370,000 (roughly 1.4 billion UGX).

According to a report by CNET, on Thursday the thieves stole Apple’s new smartphones from a UPS truck parked outside a San Francisco Apple Store that was delivering 313 of Apple iPhone X devices, the report cited the police as saying.

The Seattle, Washington, U.S-based Courier firm; United Parcel Service (UPS) said it is working with the law enforcement investigating the theft.

Besides the theft, we earlier reported that the company’s flagship wasn’t for the 2017 launch. Dan Riccio; Senior Vice President of hardware engineering at Apple, revealed that the iPhone X launch was originally planned for 2018. In an interview with Mashable, he stated that with a lot of hard work, talent, grit, and determination, Apple had ultimately brought the iPhone X before time.

“The decision for an earlier had left no time for the iPhone team to make any design changes, the executive mentioned”[related-posts]
