Apple Launches 2TB iCloud Storage

On 7 September, Apple will unveil its new iPhone line-up, along with the next-generation Apple Watch.Apple’s newest mobile operating system, iOS 10, is also due for release.

Ahead of this event, Apple has unveiled a new 2TB plan for $19.99 a month, its largest plan yet. Up until now, the largest tier was 1TB. This pricing is similar to Google Drive’s terabyte pricing, which starts at $9.99 a month for 1TB, and is slightly more than Microsoft’s 1TB plan for $6.99 a month. Apple’s new plan is not replacing a previous one, so you’ll still be able to pay $0.99 a month for 50GB, $2.99 for 200GB, or $9.99 for 1TB. Mac and iOS users who don’t pay for iCloud also get a default amount of 5GB for free.

Given that the largest iCloud storage tier has always been eight times that of the largest capacity iPhone, there is a possibility we may see a new 256GB iPhone 7 Plus announced at the highly anticipated event due to take place next week.
