#BeUnlimited: A Plan That Will Leave You Wanting More

Telecom firm; MTN Uganda early last month announced their anticipated monthly Unlimited internet packages during a press media briefing that was held at their head offices in Kololo. The move is significant as it offers customers a chance to enjoy high speed Internet with no volume caps. And with its 4G LTE connectivity, you can expect the best from the firm.

During the press media briefing, MTN Uganda CEO; Mr. Wim Vanhelleputte, said; they are giving their customers the freedom to use the internet unlimited and enjoy a truly amazing high speed experience.

The introduction of unlimited packages represents a major shift in customer demands for heavy internet usage, away from the traditional bundles characterized by data caps. The MTN Unlimited packages which are available in three (3) options include; MTN Unlimited Internet: Premium, Basic, and Night for 330,000UGX, 179,000UGX, and 99,000UGX respectively all valid for a month. While the Premium and the Basic can be used Day and Night (Whole Day), the Night package can only be used from Midnight to 6 a.m (Half Day).

With no volume caps, all you have/need to do is subscribe for what best suits your pocket.

Having gotten me interested, I decided to purchase for the Premium Plan – so as I can give it a try. [Am not being bias here] but I have used unlimited plans from telecom firms; Vodafone and Smile Communication, but found this to be a much better option, although the prices vary. No volume caps and has an astonishing speeds packed at 2Mbps it was worth trying.

My plan getting done this Friday, I am totally and 100% satisfied for the 179,000UGX I spent. How?

Streamed Movies/ Watching News Live
As soon as I subscribed for this plan, the first I did was streaming the movie; John Wick: Chapter Two, it was amazing, even though it had a few freezes on the way, [I say] this can be compared to a DVD with minor cracks that keeps skipping.

When [NOW] Kyaddondo East MP; Honorable Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine was all over the news and it was time for counting votes, I couldn’t get home in time, so logged on to NTV Uganda YouTube channel and watched the news live – declaring him winner with a milestone vote.

Unlimited Downloads and Mobile Updates
Unlimited downloads; Music, Movie trailers, and Mobile apps with this data that isn’t capped, I could download as much as I wanted. With my phablet being compatible with the telecom’s latest network; 4G LTE, this was made much more interesting, faster, and easier.

When it comes to mobile app updates, many have left this option [updating their apps using mobile data] and have preferred to using Wi-Fi connections. Daily and social bundles are the most purchased plans, and since social bundles are limited to only social platforms, you can’t update apps leaving the option of using the optional bundles. With this new unlimited plan, you can download, or update all your apps much faster and cheaper.

Mobile Tethering
At office when internet is down, tethered – don’t lose out on an important article because internet was down/slow. On weekends, felt like not going to office, tethered from my phone direct to my laptop and worked from home. Speeds were fast making my work.

The option of tethering also supported multiple devices including but not limited to; smartphones, tables, and iPads – as well as other laptops.[related-posts]
