The OnePlus 2 features leaked in benchmark test
It has been almost a year since OnePlus One hit the stores, but it still remains one of the best mid-range flagship smartphones available in the market. And now all eyes are on its successor.
Some features of OnePlus 2, as the successor is being called at present, have leaked online courtesy benchmarking app GeekBench. Though the app names the device OnePlus One A2001, it is widely considered to be OnePlus 2 since the original smartphone’s model number is A1001.
The data shows that the unit being tested is running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop); OnePlus may, therefore, use the Oxygen OS software based on the latest build of Android.
On the hardware side, OnePlus 2 will run on Qualcomm’s high-end 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset, the data shows. Interestingly, the clock speed of the unit tested on GeekBench is limited to just 1.55GHz. Like the first-generation model, OnePlus 2 will have 3GB of RAM.
Previously, the company has confirmed that OnePlus 2 will be unveiled in the third quarter of 2015. Rumor mill suggests that it will be priced approximately $400, whereas the predecessor was priced at $299 at launch.
