Mr James Saaka, the Executive Director National Information Technology Authority has urged Ugandans to buy genuine electronics to scale back the constant e-waste produced by cast off electronic products such as computers and laptops.

Mr Saaka was officiating at the launch of the latest Dell 14R Inspiron laptop with touch option this evening at Red Dot Distribution Night of Champion event held at the Sheraton Kampala Rwenzori Ball Room. The Laptop is distributed by Red Dot Distribution Ltd through re-sellers in Uganda.

“The technology era is growing faster than ever. As a country we continue to consume more electronics especially computers than we ever did. This though comes with related challenges of environmental degradation through e-waste. Buying from authorized distributors can easily address this challenge through longer shelf life and warranty of servicing”, he said.
