Elon Musk Delays Twitter Blue’s Paid Verification Relaunch

Elon Musk has postponed the relaunch of the company’s paid verification service, Twitter Blue until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation.

Elon Musk has postponed the relaunch of the company’s paid verification service, Twitter Blue until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation. “Holding off relaunch of Blue Verified until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation,” he says.

Musk in the tweet further said that the microblogging site might use a different color check for organizations and individuals.

Musk last week tweeted saying that the new Twitter Blue, which allows users to pay $8 per month for a blue verification check mark would relaunch on Nov. 29 saying he wanted to make sure the service was “rock solid” only to change his mind now. However, not all is going as planned as expected by Musk after a wave of fake verified accounts took over the social media platform impersonating public figures and companies triggering chaos on the platform – something which compelled the billionaire to temporarily pull a plug on his revamped Twitter Blue.

Meanwhile, the blue check mark was previously reserved for verified accounts of notable figures; politicians, journalists, influencers, and other public figures. However, following Elon Musk’s $44 billion takeover as the owner of Twitter Inc., he made Twitter Blue his top priority as a new method to generate revenue on the social platform.
