itel Mobile Uganda has collaborated with Airtel Uganda to launch the itel A70 in the Ugandan market — seeking to redefine smartphone accessibility, offering affordable yet feature-rich mobile technology to empower Ugandans.
Mr. Ssajjabbi Henry, itel Mobile Uganda brand manager, and regional manager told the press, “This partnership with Airtel represents the fusion of cutting-edge technology with unparalleled connectivity, resulting in a synergy that’s bound to redefine how you experience the digital world.”
Adding to Ssajjabi’s remarks, Ms. Joweria Nabbaka, Airtel Uganda’s Head of Data and Devices said, “Airtel Uganda is delighted to collaborate with Itel to make smartphones more accessible, supporting communities and enabling internet access.” “As we unveil this device, we are proud to emphasize our commitment to digital inclusion.”
Nabbaka told the press that internet connectivity has evolved from a luxury to a necessity — facilitating communication, providing entertainment, and enabling business transactions. For that, she confirmed that customers who buy the itel A70 will get 5GB of data free every month for the first three (3) months.
itel Mobile Uganda’s Digital Manager Ms. Gloria Ashabahebwa applauded the telco for their generosity in availing 5GB of data for 3 months to customers who buy the phone — also emphasized that the collaboration underscores their commitment to making smartphones more accessible and affordable for everyone.
itel Mobile Country Manager, Mr. Martin Yan while officially unveiling the phone said “We bring you affordable innovation and connectivity like never before, alongside Airtel Uganda.”
Refining his statement, Ssajjabbi said, “Innovation has always been at the core of the itel Mobile philosophy, which is what we led with for this phone.”

The phone comes with a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 720×1612 pexels, and a 120Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, the phone comes with Android 13 (Go Edition), T603 Octa-Core, 12GB RAM, storage variant of 256GB and 126GB.
The phone features a large-capacity 5,000mAh battery with Type-C for long-lasting performance and efficient connectivity. The Power Marathon feature, with three energy-saving solutions, ensures round-the-clock battery use.
The A70 comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. According to the company, the rear camera setup combines advanced artificial intelligence technology with a dual-lens system, enabling you to capture stunning photos with depth and clarity.
The device offers dual security features, allowing users to choose between the fingerprint sensor and face unlock for convenient and secure access to their smartphone.
Pricing, Colors, and Availability
The itel A70 is priced at UGX285,000 and comes in four color options; blue, green, gold, and black. The phone is available in all itel and Airtel stores, as well as at authorized mobile phone outlets.
For customers who are unable to fully pay for the phone, itel has partnered with EasyBuy to let customers pay for the phone in installments. Customers pay an initial deposit of UGX106,841 and complete the payment in a year paying UGX1,421 daily.
