10 Year Old Hacks Into Instagram

Jani, 10, has been awarded with $10,000 (approximately 33.4 million UGX) after he found a security flaw in popular image-sharing social network platform; Instagram, making him the youngest ever recipient of the firm’s “bug bounty” prize.

According to Android Authority, “Jani found an exploit or simply a bug in Instagram that allowed him to delete any comment that he wanted to on the popular image sharing social site.”

Facebook Inc. routinely pays cash bounties to users; researchers, hackers, entrepreneurs, who can reveal security flaws in any of their platforms, including Instagram, Whatsapp, Messenger.

Since the program’s launch in 2011, Facebook has paid out over $4.3 million in bug bounties.

Many companies including; Microsoft Corp., Google Inc., Uber, Tesla who offer these bounty programs to users; researchers, hackers, entrepreneurs, to share flaws with the company, rather than selling them on the black market.[related-posts]
