Samsung Galaxy Note 5 coming on August 12 – Report

A new report from Sammobile has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be announced on August 12, and then actually go on sale on August 21.

Sammobile, cites “insiders” as the source of the definitive launch dates.

The report also claims Samsung is planning to launch a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus alongside the Note 5.

Samsung originally planned to launch both devices at the annual IFA tech trade show in Berlin in early September, however the date was changed reportedly to “boost its sagging mobile devices” and avoid clashing with the long-rumoured iPhone 6S launch, also tipped for September.

“Advancing the unveiling date may not help Samsung much to turn the tide and make up for its lackluster sales performance in the second quarter of this year,” explains park Kang-ho, an analyst at Daishin Securities.

The report also suggests that the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ will also be accompanied by the official launch of Samsung Pay which is a rival to Apple Pay.
