On-demand travel startup Vsitt wants to connect tourists to local tour guides

Vsitt is an on-demand app that allows users to post tour requests to locals to arrange for them last minute tour packages aims to disrupt Uganda’s tour and travel scene with its on-demand packages.

Now in Beta, the site allows a guest to post their tour idea on Vsitt.com, then local experts will reply with recommendations of a variety of great places to visit and what you can do there. The as a guest, you pick and book the best local expert whose offer fit your tour need. After booking, you meet your local expert and make a tour.

Though tourism in Uganda and various markets is still dominated by tour operators and local tour associations, Vsitt aims to change that by recruiting and hiring 100 local guides to work as their early suppliers for their Android, iOS and Windows apps. There is also limited online information on Ugandan tour activities and infrastructure to enable tourist make quick last minute tour and that’s what the team aims to solve.

Founded by Ronald Nyakahuma, an Information Technology graduate from Makerere University, Caroline Atumuhaire, a  Counselling and Psychology graduate from Kyambogo University and Joel Niwoogaba, a Software Engineering graduate from Makerere University, Vsitt targets to make $5 million every year by 2021 as Africa receives at-last 55.7 Million tourist every year.The firm is projecting to attract at-least 1 million bookings every year by 2015 at a minimum price per booking of $5.00.
