Last year itel Mobile had a major rebranding initiative with a fresh logo and brand identity. According to the company, the move signals a pivotal moment in the brand’s history, blending modern aesthetics with its core mission to meet the technological needs of underserved markets.
After its rebranding announcement, before wrapping up the year, at the tail of 2023, the company also announced a new set of handsets, the itel P55, in its P-series. The P55 series comes in four variants, P55 5G, P55+, P55T, and P55 — however, only the P55T is currently available in Uganda.
A representative in itel Mobile Uganda has informed PC Tech Magazine that the P55+ will be available in the Ugandan market next month as she also emphasized that only the P55T and P55+ will be in the Ugandan market. There was no comment as to why the other variants won’t be sold in the Ugandan market.

The itel P55T is priced at UGX399,000 and is available at all itel outlets, MTN Uganda service centers, and authorized mobile shops across the country, ensuring easy accessibility for interested buyers.
Specs of the itel P55T
The standing out and headline specs on the itel P55T is the Android 14 Go Edition and 6,000mAh battery.
Because of the optimized operating system, itel P55T users can enjoy seamless access to a range of services and applications. The Android 14 (Go edition) ensures efficient use of resources, catering to devices with limited storage and processing capabilities.
The robust 6,000mAh battery, on the other hand, gives users the ability to use the phone for up to two days on a single charge, if they are minimal users. It can go up to more than two days if they are low users, and a day of use if they are heavy users.
According to the company, the battery promises an exceptional 45 days of standby time. Users can indulge in 155 hours of uninterrupted music playback, and 30 hours on social networks.
The itel P55T comes with a 6.6-inch punch-hole display and under the hood, a UNISOC 1606 processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB onboard storage expandable with a microSD card.
The phone comes with a 50MP AI Triple Rear Camera and an 8MP selfie camera which is housed in the punch-hole on the display.
The itel P55T is available in three color options; black, blue, and green allowing users to choose a color that matches their style.
