As part of its ongoing campaign dubbed the Unstoppable Network under the theme “Together, we’re unstoppable”, MTN Uganda is celebrating the network of unstoppable Ugandans that are together driving Uganda’s progress — and among those they are celebrating today is fintech expert and founder of Eversend, Stone Atwine, a distinguished expert who has carved an extraordinary path marked by innovation, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment.
Atwine’s journey began at Payment Solutions International in South Africa, progressing to the role of Country Manager for Kenya. He has also provided strategic consultancy to major banks in Kenya and Uganda, emphasizing technology-driven loan collections.
As a co-founder, Atwine established Yetu Credit Finance, a USSD-based micro-lender for Ugandan government employees, and useremit.com, a mobile money remittance service operating in Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda.
In 2017, Atwine’s entrepreneurial prowess earned recognition from the French government, leading to the creation of Eversend, a borderless payments platform. Today, he is based in London, steering Eversend’s global growth while maintaining a dynamic presence in Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, and Kampala.
Institut Choiseul in Paris has acknowledged Atwine’s substantial contributions to Africa’s economic development, naming him a top young African leader under 40 on six different occasions.
Atwine’s substantial contributions to shaping the financial landscape and fostering economic growth in the region are indeed unstoppable.
