The e-SIM is a revolutionary virtual SIM card that empowers users to seamlessly connect to their mobile service provider without the need for a physical SIM card. This digital marvel is remotely programmed via software and is seamlessly integrated into the latest generation of smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and even vehicles.

While the benefits of e-Sim technology are undeniable, it’s important to note that not all devices and carriers currently support e-Sim. However, as more and more devices and carriers adopt this cutting-edge technology, it is expected to become the standard for global cellular connectivity.
MTN Uganda is inviting its customers with eligible devices to visit any of their service centers with their valid National ID and upgrade to the e-Sim technology.
How to get an MTN Uganda e-Sim
- Simply dial *#06# to confirm if your phone supports e-Sim. If it does, it will display an EID Number.
- Once the EID Number is displayed, visit an MTN Service Center near you with an Original National ID to get an e-Sim.
- The Customer service agent will guide you through the current/normal swap process where your biometric details and photos will be captured.
- A QR code will be generated for you to scan and you will have the E sim activated on your phone.
