100 Kenyan Startups Pitching at the 4th Annual Nairobi Innovation Week

A total of 100 Kenyan startups have been selected to pitch at the fourth annual Nairobi Innovation Week that is organized by the University of Nairobi that brings together various stakeholders on an annual basis to celebrate, re-focus and energize the innovation efforts. The university recognizes her critical role at the center of the innovation ecosystem in Kenya and Africa.

The innovation is week in (on-going) for 3 days having begun on 5th till 9th March, 2018.

With over 350 entries applications submitted in eight required categories including; Agriculture, Manufacturing & Processing, Cleantech & Renewable Energy, eCommerce & Business Services, Education & Employability, Entertainment & Lifestyle, Fintech, and Health & Life Sciences, 100 startups were selected for the pitch event (which is currently happening) where only 15 most promising startup will emerge finalists.

The pitching sessions are one of a number of startup-focused initiatives taking place over the course of the week, with the African Development Bank running its High 5s Startup Challenge and Villgro Kenya offering a KES1 million (USD$10,000) prize to the top healthcare innovation at the March event.
