Nigeria: MobiTel debuts with 4G data, voice services

According to him, “Mobitel delivers best-in-class telecommunications services that make connections easier and smoother through leading-edge access devices. We sees itself as the network of the future, hence the launch with 4G, which is the first of its kind in the country.

He noted that Mobitel acquired a 2.3 GHz license from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in March 2010 and with the commercial launch, “we have become one of the first providers of real broadband in Nigeria.”

He explained that with speed of up to 2048 kilo bytes per second (Kbps) customers on its network, Mobitel’s 4G Access would now have the capability to transfer large amounts of data in seconds, listen to music and watch videos from internet websites comfortably.

“Mobitel’s 4G Access services are available using different access devices including indoor, outdoor and mobile units depending on requirements for individual, family or corporate usage,” he said.

Further, he explained that individual and home users could have access through devices on Mobitel’s 4G Access using plug and play tool, which require no end-user installation or set-up.
