iPhone X to Cannibalize iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Pre-Orders: Ming-Chi Kuo

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus pre-orders opened in the US on Friday, and now KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports anticipation for the upcoming iPhone X has cooled interest in the phones.

“While it takes three to six weeks or more to ship new iPhone models after they are available for preorder, they see the iPhone 8 taking less than one to two weeks. This is due to the iPhone X cannibalization,” StreetInsider quoted the analyst as saying late on Monday.

In the US, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will start shipping from September 22nd and have been priced at USD$699 (approx. 2,516,400 UGX) and USD$849 (approx. 3,056,400 UGX) for the 64GB and 256GB variants respectively – for the iPhone 8, while for the iPhone 8 Plus will cost USD$799 (approx. 2,876,400 UGX) and USD$949 (approx. 3,416,400 UGX) for the 64GB and 256GB variants respectively.

The iPhone X will come begin its pre-orders starting October 27 in the US while shipping starts in November. The 64GB variant is priced at USD$1,383, while the 256GB variant is priced at USD$1,585.[related-posts]
