Pitch Drive to Take 15 African Tech Startup Founders to a European Tour

A total of 15 African based startup founders will get a chance to take a tour and explore the incredible world of European start-up ecosystems through the eyes of the Google for Entrepreneurs partners.

The lucky startup founders will be taken on an adventure of a lifetime through five of Europe’s top start-up destinations hosted by the prestigious Google for Entrepreneurs partners in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich and Paris.

The tour will include a set of business and fun activities.

Startup founders will also get a chance to spend the 3 weeks pitching to over 300 pre-qualified investors across the 5 cities.

They will, with support from Google Entrepreneurs get a chance to reach Europe’s best mentors that will help them further boost their startups.

The tour is aimed at among others, raising a minimum of 20 million euros in funding.

How to Qualify for the Tour
To be eligible for a tour, one has to be a Founder/CEO of a tech start-up based in Africa, and must be available for the tour from August 14th till September 2nd, 2017.

They must be a legally registered enterprise able to demonstrate a minimum of 12 months revenue-generating operations and income generation of minimum USD$100,000 (Roughly 358.7 million UGX) in the last 12 months.

They should be willing to contribute a total of USD$3,000 (Roughly 10.8 million UGX) towards the overall cost of the trip.[related-posts]

Why Join the Tour
Participating startups will get a chance to meet and share experience with other pioneering start-up founders from across Africa as well as an opportunity to showcase their business to over 300 investors.

They will explore international opportunities, learn from Europe’s frontier tech markets and be part of a drive aiming to collectively raise a minimum of €20 million (Roughly USD$22.4 million or 80.3 billion UGX) funding.

Participants will take part in carefully curated training sessions facilitated by renowned experts and build a strong business network across Europe exposing their start-up to millions of viewers through the PitchDrive Diary show on Youtube.
